Volleyball: Lady Vikings start strong in 7-AAA play

GAINESVILLE -- The East Hall girls volleyball team opened Area 7-AAA play with a pair of wins Tuesday at home.<br />

The Lady Vikings (33-6, 2-0 Region 7-AAA) opened the action by defeating Lumpkin County 25-8, 25-12 and then closed out things with a 25-17, 25-18 win over West Hall.<br />
<br />
Allyson Segars had a solid night with 12 points on serve to go with three aces, eight kills and 10 digs for East Hall. Savannah Lindsey had 16 points scored on serve with three aces and 23 digs, Minette Maldonado had seven kills and nine digs, and Jessica Chmiel had six points on serve with five kills for the Lady Vikings.<br />

Ashleigh Burnett scored 19 points on serve with nine aces, two kills, and 11 digs, Emily Roberts had eight kills, Cassida Shockley had two kills, four digs and 23 assists, and Clarissa Flores added three points on serve for East Hall.<br />
<br />
The Lady Vikings next will travel to Monroe Area on Thursday.
