Nighthawks drop tough decision to Spring Hill College

By staff reports
DAHLONEGA -- The University of North Georgia men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker, 1-0, to Spring Hill College Saturday evening at the UNG Soccer Complex.

Having been turned away four times in the first half, the Badgers (1-2-0) found the back of the net just six seconds before the horn blew for halftime. Eric Schwing knocked it through the top right corner from the top of the box to give Spring Hill the lead.

The Nighthawks (1-3-0) saw their share of opportunities on the attack but never caught the crucial break needed to get on the board.

Both teams were even with 18 shots on the night. Spring Hill put nine on goal, while North Georgia had six on target.

UNG will look to continue its success on the road as the Nighthawks travel to Harrogate, Tennessee on Wednesday to take on Lincoln Memorial. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
