DECATUR, Ga. (AP) -- DeKalb County elections officials have approved of three Sunday voting locations for upcoming general and special elections.

Officials said in a statement Thursday that in-person voting will be allowed Oct. 26 at the Voter Registration and Elections Office and the South DeKalb Mall in Decatur. The Chamblee Civic Center will also host Sunday voting in the north end of the county.

Republicans earlier this week criticized the decision to allow Sunday voting, saying the option would favor the county's southern areas, which are composed of mostly black and Democratic voters.

Republican state Sen. Fran Millar of Dunwoody has also been criticized by Democrats for saying he'd prefer more educated voters than a greater turnout.
In-person Sunday voting is scheduled for noon to 5 p.m.
