Softball: Lady Vikings take 7-AAA win over Dawson County

GAINESVILLE -- East Hall scored seven runs in the first inning and then held off a late Dawson County surge to take a 9-5 win Tuesday in Region 7-AAA action.<br /> <br /> The Lady Vikings scored in the first on an RBI single by Abby Black, an RBI double by Kali Turner, an error, a two-run single by Madison Brown, a groundout by Logan Turner, and an RBI single by Steffanie Redmond.<br /> <br /> Redmon finished with two hits and also scored a run for East Hall. Kaitlyn Poole recorded the win for the East Hall going the distance and allowing five runs on nine hits and striking out three.<br /> <br /> Dawson County got a three-run home run in the second to cut the lead to 7-3.faced just a 7-3 deficit.<br /> <br /> The Lady Vikings increased their lead to 9-3 in the second on RBI hits by Madeline Hall and Brown.<br /> <br /> The Lady Tigers pulled within 9-5 in the fifth on a two-run double by Katelynn Simpson.<br /> <br /> Lady Vikings will travel to Gainesville on Wednesday.
