KENNESAW -- Buford used a four-run sixth inning to break open a tie game and then cruised to a 7-2 win over Heard County Saturday in a matchup of ranked teams at Kennesaw State.<br />

The Lady Wolves (14-1) came in ranked No. 1 in Class AAAA while Heard County was ranked third in Class AA.<br />

the game featured two Division I commits on the mound in Buford's Bria Bush (Tennessee) and Heard County's Jordan Watson (Michigan State).<br />

Buford took a quick 1-0 lead in the first ona RBI single by Remy Hasty scoring Jordan Deep. The Lady Braves answered right back in the bottom of the inning on a RBI double.<br />

It stayed that way until the sixth. The Lady Wolves played small ball and took advantage of a key Heard County error. Tessa Daniels singled and moved to third on an error on a bunt attempt by Hasty. Daniels would score on another bunt attempt by Drew Puckett beating the throw home. Breanna Gutierrez followed with a two-run triple and Alexus Murray capped the inning with a single scoring Gutierrez for a 5-1 lead.<br />

Heard County cut the lead to 5-2 in the bottom of the sixth but Buford put the game away with two more runs in the seventh on a two-run single by Murray.<br />

Bush (7-0) took the win with a complete-game effort. She surrendered eight hits and fanned six while walking three.
