GAINESVILLE -- The Lakeview Academy girls volleyball completed a perfect 5-0 day Saturday to win the Lakeview Invitational volleyball championship.<br />

In pool play, Lakeview defeated Johnson (25-12, 25-21) West Hall (28-8, 25-9) and Jefferson (25-16, 14-25, 15-12). In the championship bracket, Lakeview defeated Grayson (25-20, 16-25, 17-15) and Apalachee in the title match (25-14, 25-12) to win the tournament.<br />

Bailey Towles led the charge for Lakeview with 40 assists, 23 aces and 16 digs. Katie White pumped in 33 kills and 37 digs with three aces and Rachael Unger added 14 kills and two blocks.<br />
<br />
Katie Gay notched 12 kills, 10 aces and 19 digs, Peaches Shipley had 10 kills, six aces and four blocks, and Delaney Jarrett contributed 27 assists, eight aces, and 10 digs. Schyler Miller had 29 digs and four aces for the Lady Lions.<br />

Jefferson, meanwhile, finished the tournament 2-2. The Lady Dragons swept both West Hall and Johnson in straight sets before falling to Lakeview in pool play. <br />
<br />
In the gold bracket semifinal, Jefferson lost to Apalachee. The Lady Dragons were led by Lindsey Nilsen and Paige Watson.<br />

For Johnson, the Lady Knights finished 2-4. In pool play they fell to Lakeview and Jefferson but rebounded with a 25-23, 25-12 win over West Hall. They lost twice to Winer-Barrow and knocked off West Hall for a second time in bracket play.<br />
<br />
Brooke Balenger led Johnson with 11 aces, 16 kills, and three digs. Cassie McDonald added seven aces, 10 kills, and seven digs and Grace Eidson had 21 aces, four kills, 29 assists, and eight digs for the Lady Knights. Jessica Panter had six aces and 12 kills and Julia Bowers added six aces and nine digs.
