CARNESVILLE -- Stephens County scored the final 34 points to erase an early deficit en route to a 34-7 win over Franklin County Friday night in both teams' season openers.<br />

The Indians (1-0) trailed 7-0 in the first quarter but rallid for a 13-7 halftime lead and then blew the game open with 21 second half points.<br />

Freshman Desmond Wheeler had 101 yards rushing and one touchdown to pace Stephens County. Tyrik Cunningham added 85 yards on the ground and two scores.<br />

Quarterback Mason Long was 15-of-24 passing for 197 yards and one TD pass. Long added a rushing touchdown for the Indians.
