Rain washes out opening day of Lanier Pointe tourney

GAINESVILLE -- The opening day of the 2014 high school softball season got off to a wet start Friday.<br />

The first day of the Lanier Pointe Tournament at the Lanier Pointe Softball Complex was rained out.<br />
<br />
The tournament will begin Saturday at 8 a.m., weather permitting, with four rounds in the round-robin format.<br />
