Dyer, Schofield, Jacobs among area educators recognized by Atlanta Business Chronicle

ATLANTA - Retiring Gainesville School Supt. Merrianne Dyer, Hall County Schools Supt. Will Schofield, and University of North Georgia President Bonita Jacobs are among the Atlanta Business Chronicle's top 100 leaders in education in metro Atlanta. Dr. Donna Mayo, dean of UNG's Mike Cottrell College of Business, also made the list, as did retiring Forsyth County. Schools Supertendent "Buster" Evans.<br /> <br /> The annual "Who's Who in Education" guide, published on May 9, recognizes leaders for their initiative and vision in developing the region's K-12 and postsecondary educational institutions.<br /> <br /> Jacobs was also named to the list in 2013 and 2012. <br /> <br /> Mayo has served as dean of the Mike Cottrell College of Business since the summer of 2012. She began her role during the consolidation of Gainesville State College and North Georgia College & State University, and was instrumental in merging the two institutions' business programs.
