VA Hospitals and Obamacare

It appears President Obama, and his Democrats, are doing everything they can to defuse the scandal at the Veterans Administration hospitals. That should be a major news story, if not THE major news story, right now.

But for the treasured Obama legacy, it is a disaster. It raises this question: If government is incapable of running a healthcare system for our veterans, what makes the Obama camp think they are capable of running healthcare for everybody in America? They have complete records on all veterans. They don't have to worry about whether or not a procedure is covered by insurance.

The VA leaders appointed by the President mandated that every patient would be seen in two weeks, and if that goal was met, they would get a bonus.

Now we learn that was not happening, even though a lot of your tax money was paid out as bonuses. Patients were waiting as much as 115 days or more.

First it was said that was because of budget cuts. But it turns out that was not true. Then we learn it might have been the unions, and we ask: are VA hospitals unionized? The answer is yes.

President Obama says he will investigate and get the facts, and fix it. Haven't we heard that before? Like with the botched rollout of Obamacare. Now we learn of the increased cost we will pay for that Affordable Care Act.

But set that aside for the moment. How many of us in the future may need medical attention in less than three months, and if our veterans can't get it in a VA hospital, what makes us think you and I will get it when Obamacare takes over?

This is Gordon Sawyer reminding you that any government which can give you all you want can also take from you all you've got.
