CUMMING - The Forsyth County Board of Education (BOE) has approved the hiring of retired Dawson County Schools Superintendent Keith Porter as Interim Superintendent.<br />

"We are excited to have Mr. Porter step into this role as we transition during our search for the next superintendent," said Forsyth County BOE Chairperson Darla Light. "He has a strong reputation of being a selfless leader and has worked in partnership with our district for many years. Mr. Porter will ensure that our district continues moving in the right direction." <br />

Until his recent retirement, Porter had served a Dawson County Schools Superintendent since 2009. <br />
<br />
Dr. L.C. (Buster) Evans, will be retiring as Forsyth County Schools Superintendent June 30. The Forsyth County Board of Education is currently conducting a search for his permanent replacement.<br />
