GAINESVILLE - For the second time this week, Hall County Animal Control officials say a rabid bat has been discovered inside a home; this time it happened at a house on Francis Trail in north Hall County.

The latest case is the eleventh confirmed case of rabies in the county for the year.

On Tuesday, Hall County Animal Control said a rabid bat was found in a home on Blue Ridge Drive in the city of Gainesville.

As always, animal control officials are encouraging pet owners to keep pets up-to-date on rabies vaccinations, since pets are the most likely to come into contact with rabid animals.
