GAINESVILLE - The Hall County Sheriff's Office's next Civilians Firearms Safety Course is set for Saturday, April 26, 8:30-12:30.<br />

The class is held at the Sheriff's Office firearms training complex and is taught by the department's firearms instructors. Seating is limited, but the course is offered on an on-going basis.<br />

Participant Requirements:<br />
· Must be 21 years or older; a person 18 years old to 20 years old may attend with a family member age 21 or older, who must remain with the participant throughout the course.<br />
· Must have a valid photo ID and pass a preliminary background check.<br />
· Approved handguns only; weapon must be free of defects and subject to inspection. No derringer type pistols.<br />
· Participants must provide their own weapons and ammunition. Calibers ranging from .22 to .45 are acceptable. Centerfire or rimfire cartridges only. No black powder.<br />
· An approved same-side belt holster must be used at all times. Cross draw, shoulder holster, ankle holsters, etc. are prohibited.<br />
· Participants must provide their own eye and ear protection.<br />
· Applications will be accepted through this Friday, April 18, at the Sheriff's Office and must be completed in person.<br />
