CLEVELAND - The White County Board of Commissioners is ready to present another look at a land use plan for the county and wants the public to come review it and provide input.
The commissioners held a couple of public forums last August on a draft plan and during those hearings the citizens provided much input and that has been incorporated in an updated plan.
Now, the commissioners want the citizens to have a look at the revised document at a public forum to be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at the White County Senior Center.
Commission Chairman Travis Turner, during a meeting Monday, made it clear they want to hear from the public.
"I cannot emphasize enough that we are looking for public input, that the citizens of White County have a say-so in a proposed land use plan that affects all of us that we can be pleased with," Turner said.
After the May 1 public forum, commissioners plan to use the community input and develop a plan that will be present to voters as a November referendum ballot question.
