MONROE -- Daniel McCrary struck out 14 and allowed just three hits in leading Lumpkin County to a 9-0 win over Monroe Area Wednesday in the Indians' Region 8-AAAA baseball opener.
Gunner Wood had two hits and two RBI to lead Lumpkin County (8-3, 1-0 Region 8-AAAA) at the plate. Timmy Somerset had three hits and scored twice, and Avery Whitehead had two hits for the Indians.
