The Gainesville girls tennis team beat Duluth 3-2 Wednesday.
The Lady Elephants swept the doubles to take the win. The No. 1 doubles of Morgan Mercer and Suzanne Smith rallied from a set down for a 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory and the No. 2 doubles of Sally Callahan and Haley Frankum beat Camera Dunn and Aasha Punwagi 6-1, 6-2.
In singles, Brinkley Frankum lost to Morgan Cage 6-4, 6-0 at No. 1 while Katherine Wright beat Sonia Lau 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 at No. 2 in what turned out to be the deciding match. At No. 3 singles, Georgia Summer lost to Megan Waldheim 6-2, 6-3.
Gainesville next will travel to Loganville.
