MONROE -- The Lakeview Academy girls soccer team won a wild Region 8-A match over George Walton Academy Tuesday.
The Lions won in penalty after both teams failed to score in overtime.
Lakeview (4-1, 1-0 Region 8-A) trailed 1-0 late when Carly Kenny found Katherine Sartor scored off a free kick with six minutes left. Kenny was fouled a minute later in the box and scored on a penalty kick to give the Lady Lions a 2-1 lead.
George Walton, however, would send the game into overtime scoring off a free kick with 45 seconds left to tie the game at 2-2.
After a scoreless overtime, Annie Dempsey and Emma Reinhardt scored their PKs to give Lakeview the win.
