GAINESVILLE -- Behind a sweep in doubles, the East Hall boys tennis team knocked off West Hall 3-2 in Region 7-AAA action Tuesday.
In the doubles action, Oscar Torres and Fermin De La Cruz defeated Jorge Bernador and John Threadgill 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 and the No. 2 team of Junior Lee and Jose Gomez defeated Steven Ramirez and Kevin Ginong 6-3, 6-2.
East Hall got its other win from Tucker Hardison, who beat Joey Griffing 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.
The Spartans got their two wins from Johnny Griffing, who knocked off Jonathan Morales 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, and Phouc Nguyen, who beat Logan Warwick 7-6, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.
