Tennis: North Hall serves up region sweep over Fannin

The North Hall boys tennis team opened Region 7-AAA play with a 5-0 win over Fannin County.

The Trojans (5-0, 1-0 Region 7-AAA) dropped just one set in the victory. Jackson Davis rallied to defeated Austin Kuhr 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. Dalton Patterson and Dawson Smith both won by 6-0, 6-0 scores at Nos. 2 and 3 singles.

Matt Booth and Paxton Gillespie also won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles and Matthew Chewning and Daniel Martin won by default at No. 2 doubles.

North Hall next will play host to Dawson County on Thursday in a non-region contest.

In the girls match, the Lady Trojans also won 5-0 over Fannin County.

The Lady Trojans did not drop a set and lost just one game in the team match.

Tricia Dial, Courtney Barnes and Karleigh Dills also won in singles. The doubles teams of Hannah Gibson and Kaitlyn Smith MaryClare Patterson and Sarah Hafex also won in straight sets.
