DACULA -- The Gainesville girls golf team opened its 2014 season with a win at the Girls Gwinnett Open Saturday.
Using a modified point system, the Lady Red Elephants totaled 84 points using their top three scorers beating Brookwood by one stroke.
Morgan Reece led Gainesville with three birdies on her back-nine accumulating 31 points on her own which was good enough for fourth place individually and All-Tournament team honors.
Meanwhile, teammates Ashleigh Bishop scored 28 points, Meg Callahan scored 25 points and Madeline Harr scored 24 points.
