BOGART -- The Gainesville girls tennis team earned its first win of the season Tuesday with a 5-0 win over North Oconee.
The Lady Elephants (1-1) dropped just one set in getting the victory.
Katherine Wright and Haley Frankum got straight-set wins in singles while the doubles teams of Georgia Summer and Suzanne Smith and Morgan Mercer and Sally Callahan also won in straight sets.
Brinkley Frankum won a tough three-set match at No. 1 singles 6-3, 3-6, 11-9 in a tiebreaker.
Gainesville next will play host to North Hall on Thursday at Longwood Park.
