CUMMING -- Caroline Bowns poured in 29 points, including going 6-for-6 on 3-pointers, to lead the North Forsyth girls to a 64-49 win over Duluth Monday night in the Class AAAAAA state playoffs.
The Lady Raiders (28-2) opened the game with a 12-7 first quarter and then extended their lead to 26-17 by halftime. Duluth cut the lead to 40-33 heading into the fourth quarter but North Forsyth put the game out of reach outscoring the Lady Wildcats 24-16 in the final period.
Avery Scarbrough recorded a double-double for the Lady Raiders with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Lochlain Corliss had 12 points and five steals for North Forsyth.
Katie Powell paced Duluth with 29 points. Alyah McGriff had 14 points for the Lady Wildcats.
