NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a pregnant woman who was loading groceries into the trunk of her car with her husband was struck and killed by a private snow plow in New York City, and her baby was successfully delivered by cesarean section.
Police say 36-year-old Min Lin was struck at about 10:45 a.m. Thursday by a vehicle with a snow plow attached to it as it backed up in the rear parking of a supermarket in Brooklyn.
They say she was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center where she was declared dead.
A spokeswoman for the hospital said the nearly full term baby boy was in critical condition in the neonatal intensive care unit. She said he weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces.
The driver hasn't been charged. The husband wasn't hurt.
