TOCCOA -- The Chestatee girls basketball team set a new school-record for regular season wins in a season after Thursday night's 41-34 victory over Stephens County.
The Lady War Eagles (21-4, 8-0 Region 8-AAAA) also completed a perfect region record with the win.
Chestatee led 9-7 after the first quarter but trailed 19-12 at halftime after a dismal second quarter. The Lady War Eagles answered with a strong third quarter outscoring Stephens County (14-11, 5-3) 14-4 in the period.
Chestatee held off the Lady Indians down the stretch.
Bridgette Kelly paced Chestatee with 16 points. Kayla Watson added 10 points for the Lady War Eagles.
