Girls basketball: Buford takes 3rd in Farm Bureau Classic

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Buford girls held off a scrappy Effingham County team Tuesday night in the third-place game of the Farm Bureau Classic.<br /> <br /> The Lady Wolves took a 46-45 victory behind Corey Staples, who was named to the All-Tournament team.<br /> <br /> Buford looked to have things in control taking a 37-16 lead into halftime. But the Lady Wolves were held to just nine points in the second half and hung on at the end for the win.
