The new neighborhood will straddle the Hall/Gwinnett line.
GAINESVILLE - The Hall County Planning Commission is scheduled to start the new year with a piece of old business: a proposal for a 36-lot subdivision in South Hall.

The Ridgeline Land Planning, Inc. rezoning application is the first thing on the agenda for the commission's first meeting of 2015 - Jan. 5.

The matter was tabled several times this year as the applicants sought to meet with people who live in that area who had concerns about the proposal. Ridgeline was also working with Gwinnett County planning officials since the 22-acre site straddles the Gwinnett-Hall County line near Jones Creek Subdivision in the Friendship Road/Hog Mountain Road area.

"The applicant has been keeping us in the loop throughout, letting us know if [they need] additional time," Hall County Planning Director Srikanth Yamala said in early September. "Pretty much, they've been tabling the exact same application at the Gwinnett Planning Commission."

The subdivision would be served by Hall County fire services and Gwinnett County water/sewage.

The Hall County Planning Commission meeting on Jan. 5 will begin at 5:15 at the county Government Center.
