PEACHTREE CITY - Dense fog will lower visibility to one-half mile across north Georgia today and well into south Georgia, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Forecasters say areas of drizzle and fog will persist through the day with some improvement this afternoon. They add that motorists should use low-beam headlights, slow down, and allow extra time to reach their destinations.

Meanwhile, the NWS says strong thunderstorms, possible tornadoes and heavy rains are expected across much of Georgia later today and tomorrow. (See separate story. Second link below.)
