GAINESVILLE - Regions Bank will close its Mundy Mill/McEver Rd. branch in West Hall next spring.<br />

Mel Campbell, corporate spokesman for Regions, said the office will close March 20 and that all affected customers have been sent a letter informing them of plans to close the branch.<br />

Campbell added this is part of a regional consolidation across 16 states involving a total of 30 branches, five of them in Georgia, but no others in north Georgia.<br />

He said that when consolidating, Regions looks at factors such as branch traffic, condition of buildings, and proximity to other branches. Regions has another branch about two miles away, also on Mundy Mill Road and located near the Blackshear Place.<br />

Campbell said he did not know how many employees work at the Mundy Mill/McEver office, adding that the company is working to see if they can be absorbed into jobs at other branches.<br />
