NEW YORK (AP) -- U.S. stocks are opening higher as the market comes off its worst loss in two months.<br />

The Dow Jones industrial average rose 112 points, or 0.7 percent, to 17,392 as of 9:35 a.m. Eastern time Monday.<br />

The Standard & Poor's 500 rose 15 points, or 0.8 percent, to 2,017. The Nasdaq composite rose 32 points, or 0.7 percent, to 4,685.<br />
<br />
The Dow had plunged 315 points on Friday following another sharp drop in the price of oil and more signs of weakness in China.<br />
<br />
The price of crude oil edged up 13 cents to $57.95 a barrel.<br />
<br />
Bond prices fell. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note rose to 2.13 percent.
