GAINESVILLE - An investigation into an alleged armed robbery led to the arrests of three Gainesville men on Sunday.

According to Lieutenant Scott Ware with the Hall County Sheriff's Office, an unidentified individual contacted authorities early Sunday claiming to have been robbed at gunpoint. Ware said the man then told police that the crime occurred at a Patterson Drive residence, located near Athens Street in Gainesville.

Following up on these claims, authorities visited the residence, where they encountered three men, later identified as 27-year-old Orlando Jasmine Maddox, 28-year-old Terry Jerome Maddox and 27-year-old Gabriel Williams, Jr.

According to Ware, investigators at the scene discovered that Williams was the subject of two outstanding warrants: one a state court probation warrant, the other a superior court arrest order. Following this discovery, Williams was placed under arrest.

Ware said after Williams' arrest, a search warrant was obtained by police. The subsequent search revealed three plastic bags that police say contained suspected sythetic marijuana, as well as packaging materials and digital scales. Also discovered was over $3,000 in cash, body armor and a stolen semi-automatic pistol.

The three men, all of whom are currently booked into the Hall County Jail, face charges of Possession of Synthetic Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony and Theft by Receiving (Stolen Firearm).

In addition to those charges, Orlando Maddox has been charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, while Terry Maddox faces a Possession of Marijuana charge after police found a small amount of the drug on his person while processing him at the jail.
