Jefferson tops new list of Ga. towns with the most improved crime rates

Safe Choice Security is out with its 2014 list of the cities and towns around the country with the most improved crime rates.<br /> <br /> Several in northeast Georgia are included among the 20 in Georgia that made the list: Jefferson, Auburn, Commerce and Winder.<br /> <br /> Jefferson tops the list with a more than 70 percent decrease in its crime rate for the study period.<br /> <br /> Using data from 2007-2012 FBI Crime Reporting Statistics, the researchers says the Georgia towns and cities "have significantly decreased crime successfully."<br /> <br /> Advanced police programs, services and techniques are credited with helping them decrease their crime rates over the five-year period. <br /> <br /> (Click on the link below to see the entire list and an explanation of what each city or town was chosen.)
