Wrestling: North Hall, West Hall take early lead in Hall Co. Championships

OAKWOOD -- North Hall and host West Hall both went a perfect 3-0 Friday on the opening day of the Hall County wrestling championships.<br /> <br /> The two-day round-robin tournament will conclude Saturday at the West Hall gym. The action will begin at 9 a.m. with the fourth round. North Hall and West Hall will take on each other in the fourth round to open the action on Saturday.<br /> <br /> West Hall took wins over Riverside Military (69-12), Flowery Branch (48-30), and East Hall (55-23). The Trojans nipped Chestatee (36-29), beat East Hall (69-12), and held off Johnson 45-31.<br /> <br /> Chestatee and Johnson each went 2-1 on the opening day. After falling to North Hall, Chestatee rallied with wins over Gainesville (51-24) and Flowery Branch (54-18). Johnson beat Gainesville 56-21 to open the meet and then whipped Riverside 60-12 before falling to North Hall.<br /> <br /> Flowery Branch went 1-2 with a 48-35 win over East Hall before dropping matches to West Hall and Chestatee.<br /> <br /> Gainesville also went 1-2 beating Riverside 57-22 in the final round of the night after losing to Johnson and Chestatee in the first two rounds.<br /> <br /> East Hall and a depleted Riverside squad failed to win a match on Friday.
