Northside-Warner Robbins beats Mays 25-18 for 5A title

ATLANTA -- Quarterback Tobias Oliver scored on a 47-yard run with eight minutes remaining and Northside-Warner Robins won the Georgia High School Association Class AAAAA football championship with a 25-18 comeback victory over Mays on Friday night at the Georgia Dome.<br /> <br /> Oliver passed to Nate Greene for a 70-yard touchdown in the third quarter and and Justin Alonzo kicked a 32-yard field goal for Northside (14-1) early in the fourth to close what had been an 18-7 lead for Mays (12-3) at halftime.<br /> <br /> Oliver finished with 154 yards on 20 carries and completed 5 of 11 passes for 94 more yards as Northside won its third state championship.<br /> <br /> Mays quarterback Asahnia Aderhold threw three first-half touchdown passes and finished 14 of 34 for 290 yards.<br /> <br /> Mays was trying to win the Atlanta Public Schools' first state championship since Southwest Atlanta in 1973. Mays opened in 1981 as a replacement for Southwest.
