GAINESVILLE - Students from Play On Players in Gainesville and a cast of younger students in the same group, The Petite Poppers, have been accepted into the 2015 Junior Theater Festival happening January 16-18 in Atlanta. <br />

The group is one of four educational musical theater groups from across the nation to be selected to perform a soon-to-be-released musical for 4,500+ attendees during the New Works Showcase at the festival. The students will present selections from "Elf JR."<br />
<br />
On Friday, December 12 at 7:30 pm, Saturday, December 13 at 2:30 and 7:30 pm and Sunday, December 14 at 2:30 pm, the students from Play On Players will perform their full musical production of Disney's The Little Mermaid JR. Tickets for the show are $11 and $13 and are available at www.playonplayers.com.<br />

Created by New York's iTheatrics and produced by the Junior Theater group, the Junior Theater Festival is the world's largest musical theater festival celebrating young people and musical theater. Featuring 101 groups representing 26 states, the District of Columbia and two countries, the 2015 festival will bring together more than 4,500 students, teachers. <br />

The Play On Players, 35 students, ages 8-18 years old will present selections from Disney's "The Little Mermaid JR." and the Petite Poppers, ages 7-13 years old, will present selections from "A Year With Frog And Toad KIDS." The Petite Poppers presented their full production of A Year With Frog And Toad KIDS in October.
