UNG women's soccer places 4 on NSCAA All-Region list

KANSAS CITY -- Adding to their postseason accolades, North Georgia women's soccer players Megan Morrow, Cicely Taliaferro, Megan Gil and Sophia Matonak have been named to the 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Southeast All-Region teams.<br />

Taliaferro and Morrow were 1st team All-Region selections while Matonak and Gil garnered 2nd team All-Region honors.<br />

The same four players represented UNG on the Peach Belt Conference's All-Conference ledger while Taliaferro, Morrow and Matonak were honored as Daktronics All-Region selections in November.<br />
<br />
Taliaferro, the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year and Brine Golden Ball Award winner, tied two single season records for the Nighthawks, equaling marks set last season by Kelly Penston for goals (18) and points (41). The senior from Marietta finished her career with 31 goals, which is second best in program history. The NSCAA All-Region selection is the third career honor for Taliaferro.<br />
