Gainesville doctor reaches robotic surgical milestone

GAINESVILLE - Dr. Brent Sharpe of Northeast Georgia Urological Associates recently successfully completed his 500th robotic surgical procedure at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. <br /> <br /> Dr. Sharpe has used this minimally invasive robotic procedures for more than seven years.<br /> <br /> With robotic surgery, a patient's recovery time may be reduced by more than fifty percvent. Dr. Sharpe has performed robotic surgery on patients ranging from the teenage years to octogenarians throughout the Southeast for both benign and cancerous reasons. <br /> <br /> He is also the area's only robotic surgical instructor for Intuitive Surgical, which is based in Sunnnyvale, California.<br />
