ATLANTA - The Georgia State Patrol said 17 people were killed on Georgia roadways during the 102-hour Thanksgiving holiday travel period, including three members of a Franklin County family who died Friday afternoon.<br />

Investigating troopers said the fatal crash occurred at 3:40 p.m. Friday, November 28 on Georgia Highway 77 near Lavonia Speedway.<br />

A Ford Econoline van driven by Marco Tulio Hernandez-Ramirez, 33, of Doraville crossed the center line of the highway and struck a Toyota Camry being driven by Kathryn Cannon, 32, of Canon.<br />
<br />
Kathryn Cannon and her passengers, 48-year-old Jerry Cannon and 5-year-old Rose Marie Cannon, died in the crash.<br />
<br />
Hernandez-Ramirez was booked into the Hart County Jail on three counts of first-degree homicide by vehicle, DUI less safe, possession of an open alcohol container, and a list of traffic violations, according to GSP.
