EATONTON, Ga. (AP) Authorities say a Putnam County sheriff's deputy is expected to recover after he was wounded by a shotgun blast during a call in central Georgia.
Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills tells The Telegraph that a man fired the gun during a domestic dispute Wednesday night just north of Lake Sinclair.

Sills said shotgun pellets struck Deputy Barak Wood in the hand and in the eye area, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Sills said two deputies had been sent to the house after a 911 call about a dispute between a man and a baby sitter at the home.
The sheriff said a 23-year-old man at the home opened fire on Wood, then ran into nearby woods but later surrendered. He was charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer.
