The Telegraph of Macon reports that 7- and 8-year-olds from Telfair and Wheeler counties were playing their annual Turkey Bowl in Eastman when the violence occurred.
Dodge County Sheriff Lynn Sheffield says one of the Wheeler players wanted to come out of the game on Monday night. That's when two of his coaches began arguing.
Authorities say 31-year-old coach Christopher McDowell of Alamo was stabbed in his left side.
The sheriff says 29-year-old coach Kerry E. Williams of McRae was jailed on a charge of aggravated assault. Both men were cited for fighting.
