Water main break affects portions of Cornelia

By Staff
CORNELIA - City of Cornelia officials are working to repair a break in a 10-inch water main.

"It goes directly from the water plant through Lakeview Heights subdivision, Chase Road," said Cornelia City Manager Donald Anderson. "It actually feeds our Chenocetah water tank."

Anderson said crews have isolated the break, but water supply has been cut off in a numbers of neighborhoods.

"Parties that we know that are out of water are anybody on that portion of Chase Road, Fox Hollow, Red Fox Hollow," said Anderson. He said it is possible that Arborgate is affected, as well, but he was unsure of the number of homes that might be impacted.

Anderson said that once water is restored, a boil water advisory will be put in place as a safety precaution.
