Second half surge sends Lady Nighthawks past Erskine, 95-80

TIGERVILLE, S.C. -- The University of North Georgia women's basketball team posted 56 second-half points to erase a nine point halftime deficit and cruise to victory over Erskine, 95-80. Senior guard Stephanie Huffman paced the Nighthawks with 27 shots on the night, including a 15-for-16 mark at the charity stripe.<br /> <br /> After trailing the Flying Fleet, 48-39, at the break, North Georgia found multiple hot hands in the second half shooting 35 percent from the field, which included conversion on 44 percent of the team's three-point attempts in the half.<br /> <br /> Huffman was not the only Nighthawk to post great numbers at the line, as UNG shot 92 percent on free throws for the night, including 11-of-12 from Cierra Jackson, who finished with 17 points on the night.<br /> <br /> North Georgia will return to Dahlonega for their home opener on Friday, Nov. 21, hosting a pair of schools from the Yellow Hammer state in the Nighthawk Classic at Memorial Hall. UNG will face Stillman on Friday with tipoff set for 4 p.m., with a matchup against Tuskegee the following day at 6 p.m.
