CUMMING - Bowing to the wishes of the people it serves, Sawnee EMC is eliminating the convenience fee which is assessed for "on demand" credit card and debit card payments - ones that are not set up to be paid "automatically" each month. <br />

While the amount of the convenience fee has been reduced by 50% over the years, this issue still seemed to be a point of contention for the majority of members/consumers, EMC officials said Thursday. The fee is being discontinued as of January 1.<br />

"This decision will make a lot of members very happy," said Blake House, Vice President of Member Services.<br />
