Voter turnout: nearly 50% statewide, more than 50% in Hall Co.

Voter turnout in Georgia for Tuesday's General Election was nearly 50 percent and it topped 50 percent in Hall County.<br /> <br /> The Secretary of State's Office says 2,590,220 ballots were cast statewide for a 49.9 percent turnout. The Hall County Elections Office reports that 44,317 voters went to the polls in Hall County for a 56.19 percent turnout.<br /> <br /> In Hall County, the top-of-the-ballot races were no contest. David Perdue carried the county in the U.S. Senate race, getting 76 percent of the vote to Michelle Nunn's 21 percent and Amanda Swafford's three percent. In the gubernatorial race, incumbent Nathan Deal garnered 78 percent of the vote, Jason Carter 19 percent, and Andrew Hunt three percent. Casey Cagle got 83 percent of the Hall County vote in the two-person race for Lt. Governor. <br /> <br /> (Click on the links below for more on the Hall County and statewide results.)
