GHCC Fall 2014 Beautification Awards

GAINESVILLE - The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee's Business Awards of Excellence promote attractive and well-maintained areas by publicly recognizing those who have made beautification efforts to property. <br /> <br /> Winners of the Fall 2014 Award include Lakeshore Mall and The Norton Agency. <br /> <br /> With the support of ownership, Garrison Investment Group, Lakeshore Mall's management team, worked with Premier Landcare to design new entryways with flowers in the spring and summer and holiday lights in the winter. In addition to the landscaping improvements, the mall added new pylon signs with stacked stone to modernize each entrance. <br /> <br /> The Frierson House (circa 1902) was renovated and added to The Norton Agency's Historical Green Street business campus. The "Southern Vernacular Cottage" style home now houses Norton's accounting and logistical operations and its Benefits (life and health) Sales Force. The exterior and streetscape was restored with the interior modernized with 21st century business electronics while maintaining architectural character. The overall goal was to create a calm, peaceful, productive workspace. The Norton Agency's corporate hub is located in four Gainesville Historical restored structures. <br /> <br /> The Chamber initiated the beautification program 20 years ago and various businesses have received the award, including most recently BatesCarter, 525 Candler Street in Gainesville, and the Gainesville Pedestrian Bridge, connecting Downtown Gainesville and Midtown.<br /> <br /> "The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize businesses and organizations that beautify their properties," said Greater Hall Chamber President/CEO Kit Dunlap.
