WASHINGTON -- Rabun County scored the final 22 points to erase a second quarter deficit en route to a 22-7 win over Washington-Wilkes in a key battle in Region 8-AA,

Washington-Wilkes scored early in the second quarter on a 29-yard pass play for a 7-0 lead but that would be all the Tigers would get.

Froy Hernandez kicked a 27-yard field goal to get the Wildcats (7-2, 5-0 Region 8-AA) on the board. A safety pulled them within 7-5 and Collin Grant scored on a 4-yard run with 1:04 left in the first half to give Rabun the lead for good at 12-7.

The win clinched no worse than second place for the Wildcats, who are off next week before taking on Greene County in two weeks in the season finale.

Grant would connect with Charlie Woerner on a 5-yard TD pass late in the third quarter and Hernandez capped the scoring with a 29-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter.

Rabun County finished with 343 yards rushing, paced by 160 yards from Grant and another 142 from Woerner.
