LAGRANGE, Ga. (AP) A furniture retailer is planning to open a facility in west Georgia and create 100 jobs. <br />

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal said in a statement Tuesday that W.S. Badcock Corp. is building a new regional distribution center in LaGrange at an estimated cost of $22 million. The new distribution center will replace two existing facilities in Thomson and Cullman, Alabama. <br />

Officials say the 535,000 square-foot building is expected to open in the third quarter of 2015. <br />

Badcock President Mike Price says the new distribution center is expected to handle current demand and anticipated growth of new stores. <br />
<br />
Officials say Mulberry, Florida-based Badcock Corp. was founded in 1904 and employs 1,200 employees at more than 300 stores throughout the Southeast.
