MONROE -- Xavier Gantt had 112 yards rushing and three touchdowns to lead Class AAAA No. 1 Buford to a 51-12 win over Monroe Area Friday night in Region 8-AAAA action.<br />

Buford (7-0, 4-0 Region 8-AAAA) scored in every quarter and was efficient on offense. Josh Thomas opened things with a 5-yard scoring run and Gantt got his first touchdown of the game on a 15-yard run.<br />

Matt Bonadies added a 24-yard field goal early in the second quarter for a 17-0 lead and Luke Humphrey found Avery Turner for a 19-yard touchdown pass to make 24-0 at halftime.<br />

In the third quarter Gantt added touchdown runs of 21 and 44 and Jordan Perlotte pushed the lead to 45-0 early in the fourth quarter. Conner Tarleton finished the scoring for the Wolves on a 3-yard run.<br />

Buford piled up 350 yards rushing for the game. The Wolves held Monroe Area (0-7, 0-4) to just 32 total yards in the first half while building the big lead.
