CONYERS -- Lanier exploded for 21 points in the final 2:29 of the first half en route to a 49-20, Region 8-AAAAA win over Heritage, Conyers Friday night.<br />

The Longhorns (7-0, 6-0 Region 8-AAAAA) never trailed but led just 21-7 after Heritage (2-5, 2-4) scored midway through the second quarter.<br />

Tario Fuller scored on a 1-yard run with 2:29 left in the half and then after holding the Patriots on a quick drive, Stefan Ball returned a punt 76 yards for a touchdown with 1:05 left. The Longhorns again held the Patriots on a quick three-and-out and Tahj Tolbert connected with Bolaji Ojolola on a 35-yard touchdown pass with :03 left to give them a 42-7 halftime lead.<br />

Fuller would add another 1-yard run in the third quarter and Heritage would score two fourth quarter touchdowns for the final score.<br />

Lanier opened the game strong with Marcko Baity scoring on a 1-yard run and Tolbert connected with Ojolola on a 49-yard TD pass in the first quarter. Marcella Baity added a 12-yard touchdown run on the first play of the second quarter.<br />

Tolbert finished 7-of-10 passing for 124 yards and the two TDs. Fuller had 55 yards rushing and Ashton Barnes had 105 yards rushing on six carries for Lanier.
