AMERICUS -- Eric Carrion scored twice and added an assist as the UNG men's soccer team picked up its second win in as many matches, blanking host Georgia Southwestern 4-0 on Saturday.<br />

The Nighthawks scored two goals in each half to improve to 3-7-1 overall and 2-2-0 in Peach Belt Conference action.<br />

Carrion opened the scoring in the 27th minute when he knocked home a penalty kick. Just 11 minutes later, the Nighthawks doubled the lead when Carrion fed Luis Huertas' first goal of the season to give North Georgia a 2-0 lead.<br />

The sophomore forward struck again less than three minutes into the second half with another penalty kick goal to give UNG a 3-0 advantage. The goals marked Carrion's fifth scores in the last four contests.<br />

Manuel Hernandez wrapped up the scoring in the 79th minute when he used a helper from Matt Shaftoe to beat the GSW keeper in the top left corner.<br />

UNG held a slight edge in shots, 17-6 with both squads able to put nine shots on frame.<br />

Victor Ohlin notched his second win of the season behind a season-best nine saves. In the 13th minute, the junior keeper rejected a penalty kick from GSW's Avery Alderman. Both of Ohlin's wins have come in shutout fashion.<br />

North Georgia will return to the pitch on Wednesday, Oct. 15 when the Nighthawks host Clayton State at 7:30 p.m. at the UNG Soccer Complex.
