FLOWERY BRANCH -- Flowery Branch got off to just the kind of start it wanted. The finish, however, was all Clarke Central.

The Gladiators bounced back from a 12-0 deficit to hand the Falcons a 32-12 defeat in Flowery Branch.

Clarke Central (3-3, 3-2 Region 8-AAAAA) did much of the damage through running back JaQua Daniels, who rushed 23 times for 121 yards and two touchdowns.

Yet perhaps the biggest play came via Qua-van Scott, who picked off a Falcons pass and returned it 25 yards for a score in the third quarter, which -- along with a two-point conversion -- gave the visitors a 15-12 lead they would relinquish.

The Falcons (2-4, 1-4) were led by an 18-yard touchdown run from Trey Wilcoxson and a 9-yard scoring strike from Nick Lance to Kyle King -- each in the first quarter, as Flowery Branch sprinted to a quick lead.

Yet Akeem Wise (10 of 16 passing, 113 yards) and Marcus Cambell hooked up for a 15-yard touchdown for Clarke Central to pull within 12-7 before halftime.

Jeremiah Goss rushed for 64 yards to lead the Falcons, who rushed for 148 yards and passed for 96.
Flowery Branch will look to bounce back next week against Apalachee. Clarke Central will travel to face Gainesville.
